Catch-and-Release Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar L.) Recreational Fishery in the Lower Reach of the Ponoi River (Kola Peninsula)

Abstract
The study deals with the results of the catch-and-release Atlantic salmon fishery in the lower reach of the Ponoi River in 2010-2022 in its annual and week’s cycles as well as in certain fishing pools. The harvest data was then compared to that of 1991-2009 and the data for the Varzuga River. The catch-and-release fishery was concluded to have no impact on Atlantic salmon reproduction in the river.
