China – the world leader in marine fisheries and aquaculture

Abstract
In the article, based on FAO data and guided by personal experience in the Joint Commission established in accordance with Article 9 "Agreement between the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the Government of the People's Republic of China on cooperation in the field of fisheries", signed on October 4, 1988. The Agreement is the main basic legal instrument that allows solving all issues, both current and prospective, on the development of relations between Russia and China in the field of fisheries, considering them at the annual sessions of the Joint Commission.
The existing legal basis for cooperation between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China allows, with mutual desire, to significantly increase its potential in a variety of areas in the field of fisheries and related areas.
